Informatica Customer 360 Insights (c360i) is an intelligent Customer Data Platform for AI-powered experiences, allowing businesses to recognise their customers and prospects at every touchpoint across all channels and applications to deliver the next best experience. We were approached by a utility company to implement the c360i solution.
The Client is a leading Malaysian utility company in Asia with an international presence in the United Kingdom, Kuwait, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and India. With a customer base of 10.6 million customers in peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan, they are also the largest publicly listed power company in Southeast Asia with more than MYR 180 billion worth of assets.
As part of the Client’s digitalisation strategy, the use of public cloud to host the Informatica c360i system was considered. However, with past c360i implementations having mostly been deployed primarily on-premise, the use of Amazon Web Services for this project would require extensive testing, customisations and communications between all relevant parties.
Having previously successfully designed and implemented AWS Landing Zone in a past project for the Client, the Uberfusion team proceeded to reuse the existing AWS Landing Zone to help alleviate and address the Client’s concerns on security, governance and compliance. The use of the existing AWS Landing Zone also helped to set the base framework and guardrails in all discussions with the product principal and Client, ensuring that any designs, architecture and customisations are aligned.
The cloud engineering team used AWS CloudFormation templates for the infrastructure build and deployment. Using infrastructure-as-code (IAC) allowed for the expedient build and tear-down of environments as necessary, especially when testing new customization releases from Informatica. The use of managed AWS services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) and Amazon Route53 also made setup and configuration easier and structured, saving time and effort for the customer.
Through a combination of team effort and effective communication, the team was able to implement Informatica Customer 360 Insights on Amazon Web Services. Today, the Client is able to draft out and execute effective campaigns by leveraging on the information gathered at every touchpoint thanks to c360i.
