About Perspective Strategies
Founded in 2006, Perspective Strategies is an award-winning public relations and strategic communications agency in Malaysia. The firm is an active corporate member of the Public Relations Consultants’ Association of Malaysia (PRCA Malaysia) and is also the only Malaysian member agency of the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN).
Perspective Strategies provides services in strategic communications, public affairs, brand communications, financial communications & investor relations, crisis & issue management, research & thought leadership, stakeholder engagement, as well as communications consulting and capability-building.
As part of the firm’s initiative to strengthen its digital assets, Perspective Strategies embarked on a digital revamp of their existing brand portal to better enhance its online branding and improve on the firm’s digital customer experience.
The Challenge
Thanks to a steady increase in user interaction and media consumption on its digital portals, Perspective Strategies has decided that its online presence requires a makeover. To that end, the company has reached out to us to achieve the following:
- Update their aging digital portal with a new look and feel
- Provide their non-technical team with the ability to upload new content to the digital portal easily
User-centred Design
The journey begins with numerous User Interface & User Experience (UI/UX) workshops between Perspective Strategies and us. The workshops are conducted in order to better understand the target audience of the revamp as well as how they can optimise the revamped portal to be as engaging as possible.
By understanding the expectations, concerns and motivations of the users via persona creation, we’re able to lock down the functionality, usability and adaptability of the portal, thereby forming the basis of the creative direction and user journey design on the revamped portal.
Application Modernisation
We’ve assisted Perspective Strategies in the deployment and customisation of a content management system (CMS) on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Doing so allows them to reap the benefits of the cloud and positions them as a public relations company that is at the forefront of technology.
On the technical side of things, the revamped portal relies on the following services:
- Microsoft .NET application framework
- Hosted off Microsoft IIS and Windows Server operating system via the use of Amazon EC2 for Microsoft Windows Server
- Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and Amazon Relational Database Service for Microsoft SQL Server (Amazon RDS for SQL Server) infrastructure fronted by Amazon Cloudfront, AWS’s fast content delivery network (CDN) service
- AWS CloudFormation for “Infrastructure-as-Code” (IAC)
- AWS Organizations, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and AWS CloudTrail for management and governance
- Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring and management
Cloud Managed Services
With the revamping of their digital portal done, Perspective Strategies has engaged our cloud managed services team to perform daily IT management of cloud-based services and provide technical support to automate and enhance their business operations.
By outsourcing the role to us, Perspective Strategies is able to benefit from the expertise and experience that our skilled team provides, better control its IT expenditure, and relocate company resources to other business-critical departments.
